Meet the #BOLT42, a 1992 Ducati 750SS that won’t leave anyone indifferent. At Bolt Motor Company, we’re huge fans of Ducati — these bikes have a personality of their own. And even more so when we’re talking about the 750SS.

For those unfamiliar with this model, the Ducati 750SS is deeply connected to the world of racing. It draws direct inspiration from the legendary Ducati 750 Imola — a name forever etched in motorcycle history. Fans will remember Paul Smart and Bruno Spaggiari crossing the finish line first and second in the Imola 200, defeating none other than Giacomo Agostini.

From the very beginning, we knew we wanted this project to be a tribute to that story — inspired by Paul Smart’s Ducati. With that foundation set, the rest was destined to be stunning.

We started with the front end. We upgraded the braking system and calibrated the suspension for a more balanced ride. The headlight was swapped for a modern LED, giving it a contemporary touch without losing its retro soul. To make it work, we created a fully custom 3D-printed headlight bracket.

BALANCE BETWEEN MODERN TOUCHES AND DUCATI SOUL

From the start, our priority for the #BOLT42 was comfort and daily usability. That’s why we chose a straight handlebar. The frame was sandblasted and painted in classic Ducati red, using a special high-temperature paint and oven curing process.

The exhaust pipes deserve special mention — they deliver the retro look we were after, along with a goosebump-inducing sound.

Staying true to Italian tradition, we went for spoked wheels — a perfect match for the vintage spirit of the bike. For the seat, we created a sleek, suede-finished design, treated to resist rain and finished with custom-stitched detailing.

Our mechanics gave their absolute all on this engine, tuning it to perfection for flawless performance. The entire electrical system was also renewed using only the best Motogadget components.

When we think of the #BOLT42, two things stand out. First, the end result — we’re truly proud of how this build turned out. We were itching to have another Ducati project in the Bolt Motor Company workshop, café racer specialists. Second, and just as important, is how much we enjoyed working closely with the bike’s owner — a true motorcycle enthusiast who’s now riding his dream machine.
