#BOLT28

A thing of beauty!
Today it’s time to showcase a 1978 BMW R100 S — a true delight for classic BMW lovers. For this project, we followed the principle that less is more, making the most of the original parts and delivering a clean, beautiful, and practical build, like a full restoration with a fresh new face.
There are two kinds of custom bikes: the ones that take risks with bold, aggressive designs — and the ones that celebrate the timeless elegance of classic motorcycles, like this BMW R100 S. It all comes down to personal taste.
As you’ll see in the gallery below, the #BOLT28 leans toward a clean bobber style, but with a double seat for comfort and functionality.
To achieve that refined, classic BMW look, we preserved many original parts — including the forks and handlebar controls. That said, we did lower the front forks by about 80 mm to perfect the stance.
We applied the same philosophy to the headlight. It’s the original from the BMW R100 S, but we modified the mounting points to lower it and create a better visual line with the tank.
The rims are also original, simply painted black for a sleeker look. The rear shocks are Hagon, and the bike rolls on Shinko tires. While the seat isn’t original, we selected a vintage-style brown leather seat, staying true to the spirit of the era.
