Yamaha RD 350 //
#BOLT23

This 1989 Yamaha RD350 is a very special project for two reasons:
First, its owner is a close friend of the house, and second — it’s the kind of project we don’t usually take on.
When a bike rolls into our workshop, we typically find ourselves in one of two scenarios:
Either the client has a very clear vision, or they’re looking for guidance.
The #BOLT23 is a perfect example of the first case —
And what a journey it’s been.
The Vision
The future owner knew exactly what he wanted:
A street bike with the soul of the 90s Critérium race machines.
To achieve that, we fitted the front end from a Suzuki GSX-R600, added race-style grips, and custom-designed clip-on handlebars specifically for this build.
The front brake system features oversized Galfer discs, Goodridge braided lines, and a full Koso GP instrument cluster (tach, speedo, and RPM).
The Look
One of the most striking things about this Yamaha RD350 is its paint job:
We used a special GULF racing paint — the same you’ll find on some of the most iconic race machines in motorsport history.
The Heart
This project took many more hours than it might seem at first glance.
The engine was fully rebuilt and bored up to increase displacement and improve performance —
Making the bike not only better to look at, but more practical and comfortable to ride.
At Bolt Motor Company, we work with two core goals:
That the client is left speechless the first time they see their bike,
And that they enjoy it every single time they ride it.
And we’re pretty sure the owner of this #BOLT23 is going to enjoy it to the fullest.
