The owner of this Sanglas 400Y had a clear vision from the very beginning. He was after a classic cafe racer, one that would pay tribute to the legendary race bikes of the past — but with a strong industrial edge. So from day one, we knew that lightly aged steel would be the undisputed star of this transformation.
It took us two months to turn this iconic 30+ year-old Sanglas 400Y into a striking blend of cafe racer and scrambler. One of the most noticeable changes? Removing the original front fairing and replacing it with a clean 5.75-inch headlight — a single tweak that instantly shifted the bike’s entire personality.
