Honda Transalp //
#BOLT61

With this Honda Transalp we enter the world ofthe 90′ s trails ; an aesthetic that we are passionate about, but with which we have never had the opportunity to work.
To make matters worse, the owner of this bike was looking for a very radical result. What he was really looking for was a dune eating bike with a very functional ride for day-to-day use. For this, we would have to pay special attention to braking and suspension behavior.
At Bolt Motor Company, specialists in cafe racer in Valencia, we usually work with two types of customers. There are those who let us advise them and who like not to see anything of the bike until it is finished, and there are those who prefer to be present on a daily basis. The owner of this Honda Transalp was of the second type, stopping the workshop every time he came to see us with new ideas and suggestions.
Honda Transalp: front axle
We have mounted the entire front end of a Honda Africa Twin 2020, with floating discs and Brembo gold series calipers. We have lightened the axles and designed the CNC seatposts, placed an enduro handlebar and racing hoses.
We decided to keep the original clocks and change the Led headlight to get the best visibility. Following the Dakar aesthetics , we installed heated grips, fist covers and reinforcement of the handlebars.
With the idea of following the Dakar aesthetics, we modified the dome to get a more racing finish. With this idea in mind, the original seat has been modified with a gel supplement to be able to make long routes without losing comfort. As always, our friends at Tapizados Llop have used a fabric with anti-rain treatment and capable of repelling mud.
#BOLT61: engine issue
Many hours have been spent to change the electronics of the bike in order to modify the behavior of its engine. In addition, the electrical installation of the bike hasbeen completely renewed. The same has happened with the engine, overhauled screw by screw.
We have also had to sweat with the exhaust and manifolds. The manifolds of this Honda Transalp are completely handmade and we have managed to get them to be at the height of the Arrowsilencer that this bike is wearing. The sound that is achieved with this combination is out of this world.
We are excited to make a special mention to the external aluminum tank that this bike has at the rear. This allows us to ride with an extra 4 liters of fuel.
At Bolt Motor Co. we love challenges and the #BOLT61 was a big one for us because we are not used to working with this aesthetic. However, we are looking forward to another project like this one.
