Yamaha SR250 //
#BOLT64

Before we start talking about the customization project of this Yamaha SR250, let us tell you the story of this bike. The owner of this motorcycle bought it when he was very young and kept it in his garage with a lot of love in order to customize it to his liking when he turned 50 years old.
His idea was to remember that beautiful time when he was riding this bike more than 25 years ago. He was looking for an elegant and functional bike, although he was open to suggestions with the aesthetics of the bike. We love this kind of customers who let you do it because the surprise they get when they see the finished bike is worth it.
Yamaha SR250: Front end
The first thing was to lower the bike a little to make it easy to ride. We mounted some wide bellows, a 16-inch rim and some tires that were too big for a bike of this size.
We chose a handlebar with Brat Style aesthetics, analog clocks to get that retro point we were looking for and a latest generation LED headlight for visibility was impeccable. We also modernized the look of this bike by installing the turn signals on the grips and opting for minimalist controls.
The original bike is a Yamaha SR Especial, so we decided to change the tank to install one that would allow us to achieve straighter lines. The tank has a great paint job, combining perfectly the elegance of the black and the more daring copper colour.
#BOLT64: a question of proportions
The Yamaha SR250 is one of the models we most recommend for people looking for light, easy to ride and very comfortable to use on a daily basis. Despite being a smaller bike, its lines and proportions make it have a lot of presence. Moreover, this is multiplied when you customize it and give it a second life.
As for the seat, our friends at Tapizados Llop have once again hit the nail on the head with this suede upholstery with anti-rain treatment and embroidery to match the colors of the tank. The same goes for the side covers, designed and printed in 3D to make sure they fit and look the way we want them to.
As for the mechanics, the engine hasbeen completely restored. This is the only way to make sure that the performance of the bike is up to the aesthetics. It’s no use having a great looking bike if it doesn’t perform as it should.
We have played with electricity to be able to modify the behavior of the engine. We have also installed more modern controls and lights that improve visibility and make driving easier. The electrical system has also been completely renewed and improved.
As for the exhaust, we have mounted a handmade silencer with anti-heat tape all over the collector. When we talk about handmade silencers, many people get scared thinking that they will have problems with the ITV. When we talk about handmade silencers we mean that we ask a certified company to manufacture them with certain measures, but they are fully approved.
Como toque de la casa, hemos añadido un depósito Benelli realizado en aluminio. Nosotros estamos encantados con el resultado del proyecto; al igual que su dueño, que está disfrutando más que un niño con un juguete nuevo.
