It’s been a while since we’ve shared what’s been brewing inside the Bolt Motor Company workshop, specialists in cafe racer builds in Valencia. And we’ve had a good reason — we were hands-on with this beauty. The customization of this BMW R100RS had us hooked from the very start. Sure, that happens with every bike that rolls into our garage… but this one? This one had a different kind of spark.
Why was this project so special for us? Two reasons: first, we love the model. And second, the client gave us full creative freedom. We’ve always said that the key to building the perfect cafe racer is to follow one single pattern — make it identical to the bike of your dreams (the one you’ve had stuck in your head forever). And in this case, this BMW R100RS became our dream bike too. Who wouldn’t fall in love with a machine like this?
Looking at the before and after, it’s hard to believe this is even the same bike. But the second it rolled into the shop, we saw it — the vision was crystal clear. This bike has everything a true cafe racer should have: it’s one-of-a-kind, unlike anything we’ve built before, and has that badass edge we die for in custom builds.
Normally, we like to share a breakdown of the work behind each build… but this time? It’s impossible. There’s just too much to list. Every detail, every corner, every component has been touched, tuned and refined. But there’s one thing we know for sure: the result is unbeatable.

This BMW R100RS came back to us with one goal: to leave no one indifferent. And looking at the final result, we’ve nailed it. The original #BOLT7 was already a bold scrambler — but for version 2, we pushed harder, going all in to create something even more radical. A custom bike that’s disruptive, one-of-a-kind and unlike anything you’ve seen before.
Looking back, version 1 was pure scrambler. For version 2, the Bolt Motor Company design team aimed higher — we wanted to create a true old-school tracker: spoked wheels, wide handlebars, oval tires… a full-on retro revival.
And if there’s one detail that grabs your attention right away, it’s the subframe. Now redesigned with a double-height structure, it’s the key to the tracker aesthetic we were after.
But we didn’t just stop at aesthetics. Technically, we also made key performance upgrades to squeeze every ounce out of the 1000cc engine. That means this beauty rides just as good as it looks. We also gave the electronics a major upgrade to make sure everything runs like a dream.
And of course, we didn’t forget the brakes. We’ve added a significantly improved master cylinder and more powerful calipers. Plus, the suspension tuning ensures the kind of comfort and control you expect from a premium ride.
At Bolt Motor Company, specialists in custom motorcycles, we’ve had an absolute blast working on this bike again. We love creative freedom. We love breaking rules. And honestly? We’re sticking with version 2 of this BMW R100RS.
